Baja Designs 2016-2018 Yamaha YZ250FX / YZ450FX XL40 LED Headlight Kit w/ Yamaha Shell

The Baja Designs 2016-2018 Yamaha YZ250FX / YZ450FX XL40 LED Headlight Kit w/ Yamaha Shell delivers powerful trail-focused illumination for riders seeking premium lighting performance on Yamaha off-road motorcycles. Inspired by the flagship XL80 platform, the XL40 produces an impressive 5,224 lumens while drawing only 43.5 watts, making it an ideal lighting upgrade for motorcycles with lower-output OEM stators.

Equipped with Baja Designs' Trail Lens, the XL40 provides exceptional near-field and peripheral visibility by producing a balanced vertical and horizontal beam pattern. The light comes pre-installed in a Yamaha 2016-2018 headlight shell and includes a wiring harness with switch for true plug-and-play installation. Backed by Baja Designs' 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee and Limited Lifetime Warranty, this kit is built to perform in demanding off-road conditions.

• XL40 LED Light: High-output trail illumination.
• Trail Lens: Wide, balanced beam pattern.
• Yamaha Headlight Shell: OEM-style plug-and-play fit.

Lighting Performance

The XL40 produces 5,224 lumens on high beam and 1,435 lumens on low beam while drawing only 43.5 watts (3.4 amps at 12.8V). The Trail Lens redistributes center beam intensity to eliminate harsh hot spots while providing a smooth blend of vertical and horizontal illumination, improving visibility through rocky switchbacks, hill climbs, elevation changes, and tight technical turns.

Installation

This kit comes pre-installed in a Yamaha 2016-2018 headlight shell and includes a wiring harness with switch along with all necessary mounting hardware for a straightforward plug-and-play installation on compatible Yamaha motorcycles.
