best oil for piaggio vespa engines and dry clutch cvt transmissions that need JASO MB
A lot of Vespa piaggio riders use this stuff and it was believed that bel ray was no longer making this for some reason maybe due to a shortage during 2021. I remind people that Vespa piaggio USA manual recommends Castrol and other motorcycle oils that are not JASO MB spec in USA. They did this because they know JASO MB spec is next to impossible to find in USA. Interesting enough the piaggio Vespa manual all recommended JASO MB spec. Before anyone thinks this is because Asia is hotter or this has something to do with weight, it does not. JASO MB spec is available in all weights 5w-40 10w-30 and 10w-40 and so on. Don’t confuse JASO MB with weight or climate. It’s not related. JASO MB removes friction modifiers in normal wet clutch motorcycle oils for better longer engine life and better longer belt transmission life. Don’t pay attention to your Vespa piaggio manual. Pay attention to what spec oil was developed specifically for dry clutch applications. Bel ray is THE ONLY FULLY SYTHETIC 5w-40 JASO MB oil available in USA so it’s a must have.
